The Portal is role-based and each user is assigned a Role, which provides access to various Portal tabs and screens. Roles are essentially templates for access right definitions and are created on the Roles Setup page. Roles are then assigned to individual Portal users on this page, which is a quick, global way of assigning access rights by user and Portal type.
For example, let's say you created a Manager Role and a General User Role and defined all the access rights for each Role (in Roles Setup). On this screen you simply assign these Roles to your Portal users and don't have to go through the process of picking each tab that the user has rights to.
This screen displays a list of each Portal and their users. The Administrator can then easily assign each user a Role.
NOTE You must log into SKYLINE at least once before the Portal Manager login will work. The SKYLINE login dynamically creates a file called USRROLES in the root of the \Skyline folder where your data is located. For instance, each SKYLINE User must login to SKYLINE before their user name is available for selection on this Portal page.
The summary table for each Portal includes:
User Name - this list is automatically populated
User Role Type - created in Roles Setup
Tab Name - Each high-level tab name and whether this user has access, such as Property Data or Financial for the SKYLINE User Portal.
User Email - The Email address that is added on this screen for each user
NOTE The Tenant Portal and Vendor Provider Portal allow only one role type so these Portals are not included as part of User Roles.
To modify a specific
user, expand their information by clicking the Edit
shortcut. The user must have logged into SKYLINE
at some point in order to be included in this list.
Select a User Role Type from the list that applies to this user type, such as In-House Provider or SKYLINE User. Roles are created in Roles Setup.
Enter the Users Email address. This email address can be used to retrieve a password for some user types.
Click the Check mark
icon in the lower right corner of the screen
section to save your work and update the user. You can also Cancel at any time.
The Broker Portal and Front Desk Portal allow you to Add New Record. You must add any SKYLINE Users that will be using these portals, including the MANAGER.
